Sticking With Familiar Game Mechanics
I tend to return to formats I already understand, even when something unfamiliar looks interesting at first. With card-based games, for example, knowing the basic logic makes it easier for me to follow what is happening without constantly figuring things out. Formats where symbols change from one round to another feel completely different because there is less for me to think through beforehand. I used to switch between them quite often, but eventually I noticed that this made everything feel a little scattered. Now I prefer spending more time with one type before moving on to another. At the same time, I wonder whether staying with familiar mechanics means missing out on formats that might actually suit me better. Do you usually stick with what you understand or explore something different from time to time?
