Mt. Airy Student Ministry
The Student Ministry at Mt. Airy is dedicated to guiding students from middle school through their formative years, all the way through to their high school graduations and college. During these foundational years, we offer many programs for students to hear God’s Word taught in a real and meaningful way, adhering to the whole counsel of God’s Word. We are also setting out to experience the joy that can be found through fellowshipping with other believers, and thus, have events throughout the year that allow us to have fun together as the Body of Christ! We have countless volunteers that help the ministry continue to thrive and all of our volunteers undergo a national background check before serving in our children’s and student’s ministries.
On Sunday mornings, our students participate in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) at 9:45 AM. Our students and BSF teachers all meet together at 9:30 in C-202/203 for food, announcements and fellowship before breaking out into age specific groups for BSF.
BSF takes place in the following locations:
C-209 6th– 8th Grade Girls
C-210 6th– 8th Grade Guys
C-203 9th– 12th Grade
C-208 College Students
On Sunday evenings our students come together in the Life Center (LC) from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm to worship together and take part in their individual connect groups. The Sunday night gathering is one that allows the students to all grow together as a group but will also challenge the student to grow individually in their spiritual walk with the Lord.
On Wednesday evenings our students come together in the Life Center from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
Wednesday evenings include large group, team building activities, worship, and a biblical message from our student pastor, that is applicable to what students are dealing with and asking about in their current circumstances.
Check-In and Safety
We are currently using the check in system called “Breeze”. This system allows us to keep track of every student that enters the doors of our ministry and follow up with any student that has questions, concerns, or has been absent! The best feature of the check in system is the added security that it adds and allows for the parents to have complete peace of mind knowing that their student is checked in, present, and safe. As stated previously, all volunteers in our ministry have been professionally background checked and there is also additional safety team members throughout the building at any given time. We strive to make Mt. Airy’s Student Ministry the safest possible and appreciate your help in doing the same.
We will be attending CrossRoads Winter Conference as a means to help our students grow in their faith, and in their unity with one another this January!
