Christian Sympathy… Dr. and Mrs. Shorter, along with the church staff and family, would like to express sincere sympathy to Mrs. Suzanne Dunn and her family in the death of her father, Mr. Benjamin Dunagin, Sr. and to Mr. Bill Ouzts and his family in the death of his brother, Mr. Anthony Ouzts.

New Babies…  Congratulations to Brad and Nicole McGaha on the birth of a son, Parker Benton McGaha, on Wednesday, August 25.  Parker weighs 8lbs, 13 oz., and is 20 1/2 inches long.  Gene and Karen Nichols are the proud grandparents.  Also, congratulations to Dwayne and Kendra Hyde on the birth of a son, Braydin Andrew Hyde, on Wednesday, September 1.  Braydin weighs 7lbs, 13 oz, and is 21 1/4 inches long.  Horace Lipscomb is the proud grandpa and Braydin also has a big brother, Austin, and a big sister, Kristin. 

Promotion Sunday…  Today is the start of our new church year so you will be promoted to your new Bible Study Fellowship Class.

Holiday Closings… The church office and Life Center will be closed tomorrow, September 6, in observance of Labor Day.

Children's Choir… The Little Lambs (K4-K5) and KidzAlive (1st - 6th grade) choirs  begins next Sunday, September 12, at 5:15pm.  Both choirs will meet in the adult choir room located upstairs in the Education Building. 

New Singles Class… The new singles BSF class begins this Wednesday at 6:30pm.  The class will meet in C-207 (Education Building).

Ladies WMU Group Meetings…

· The Dorsie Fowler Group will meet on Monday, September 13, at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Contact Melanie Johnson at 313-2975 for additional information.

· The Dot Tripp Group will meet at Mt. Airy on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 6:30pm to    participate in H20 (Hope to Others).  If you need more information, please call Kathy Elrod at 295-0212.

· The Debbie Baker Group will meet on Tuesday, September 14, at the home of   Carolyn Thompson.  For details, please contact Vanessa Hamby at 243-1067.

Trunk or Treat Candy… We need lots & lots of candy!  A container is now available in the Welcome Center for collecting candy donations.   

Young at Heart… The Young at Heart Group will meet on Thursday, September 9, at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall for a pot luck meal.  Please bring your favorite dish.   Contact Wanda Blanton at 855-7033 for more information.

W.I.N. Ministry… The first WIN Ministry (Widow(er)s in Need) meeting of the 2010-2011 year will be held this Friday, September 10, from 10am-12pm in the Fellowship Hall.   Please contact Andrea Stephens at 220-3430 if you need transportation or for more information.   Also, please bring school supplies for the Piedmont Emergency Relief Center to this first meeting.

Good News Club…  Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays from 2:15-4:00 pm at Hunt Meadows Elementary School beginning September 14.  Come join our ministry team as we reach the children of our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ!  For more    information contact Allison Taffer at 306-6151 or 918-4474.

Health Ministry… There will be a meeting for all health care professionals next Sunday, September 12, at 5:00pm in Room B-101.  Please contact Linda Pym at 304-5622 for more information.

Homeless Ministry… The Homeless Ministry will be serving pizzas, desserts and drinks to the homeless on September 18.  We will leave Ingles in Powdersville at 10:30am. If you would like to help with these food items, contact Kathy Elrod at 295-0212.
