 Anyone interested in becoming a part of the Mt. Airy Baptist Church Disaster Relief team must first complete the initial training that is offered twice each year, in March and in October. The Disaster Relief Training Conference is for persons willing to give of their time and engery to help others that are in crisis. You will learn how to respond to people in a time of crisis. Your response will allow others to see Jesus in you through your loving response to their needs. Training is required to go on a deployment with any disaster relief team.
South Carolina Disaster Relief (SCDR) currently has over 5,000 trained volunteers and is supported by 102 units. South Carolina has served in many disasters since its inception in 1989, most notably the 9/11 attack in New York and the Hurricane Katrina response.

Cost: $10.00 for returning volunteers $15.00 for new volunteers (a one time cost to pay for Disaster Relief hat, pins, ID card, and materials).
